System Creator Trades Own System (TOS) with real money

The Trades-Own-System (TOS) Program is a special program established by Collective2 which allows trading-system creators to "put their money where their mouth is." To achieve TOS Certification, a system creator must trade his own system using the same exact AutoTrade technology that subscribers use. Because we can monitor trades made by the system creator using AutoTrade technology, we can verify that the system developer actually trades his own system, and at what quantity.

In order to achieve and maintain TOS Certification, a system creator must follow a majority of his own trades in a live brokerage account. By multiplying the "scaling percentage" used by the system developer by the the size of the Collective2 Model Account he runs, we can calculate the Nominal Dollars at Risk by the vendor.

This is interesting information, but it has important limitations. First, you should keep in mind that the creator may actually keep less money in his real-broker account than the nominal "$ at Risk" you see below. This is because, in many cases, a trader does not have to put up as much cash in an account as the amount theoretically at risk. Also, even if the Collective2 Model Account has (for example) $1,000 dollars in it, the system creator may choose never to use all that money. Since the system creator knows how many trades a system will make, and at what quantities, a vendor can trade his own system in a brokerage account that does not have as much money as could theoretically be used if a system maxed up all its trades.

Finally, the most important warning of all: even if a system developer is currently trading his own system in a real-life brokerage account, the trading results presented on this Web site must still be regarded as purely hypothetical results. This is because (among other reasons) the system developer may not have traded all signals, particularly those that occurred before his TOS Certification, and - further - the system developer's results may not match the system results presented here. In addition, not all subscribers have received the same trades or prices as the system creator has.
